About Me

My name is Austin Nguyen. I was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the U.S. early in my childhood. I grew up in Houston, TX and attended Alief Kerr High School. Growing up in a low-income and ethnically diverse community, I developed strong cultural intelligence skills and a drive to continually learn and improve myself.

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) with a minor in Finance at the University of Texas at Austin.

I was introduced to the business world when I oversaw an entire retail store for my high school's business org, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), as its General Manager. We provided more than 100+ products for students. I learned useful skills like inventory management, price optimization, and leadership. Essentially, I was running my own business.

After high school, I entered my first year of college and interned at Cove College Events as a Marketing Intern during the school year. I develop marketing strategies and helped promote the student-ran events marketing app.

After freshman year, I interned at American National Insurance as a Data Analyst during the summer. I learned how to analyze large-scale datasets and work with a diverse team.

 In my sophomore year, I interned at NASA as a Business Analyst where I worked with many brilliant minds. I gained experience with project management, allowing me to use my technical skills to develop budget strategies. 

Most recently, I just interned as a Financial Data Analyst at The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta. I used Power BI to create reporting hubs that centralized data insights from cross-functional business areas. Work aside, I like trading stocks, going on road trips, trying new foods, jazz, and binging movies and tv shows.
